Shining Spears Aspect Warriors:
Shining Spears are among the most rare of Aspect Warriors and
are rarely seen on the battlefield. There are never enough
Shining Spears even on the largest Craftworlds to muster into
large, self-contained assault forces, so they are confined to
supporting roles in attacks made by other Aspect Warriors with
their speed and ferocity.

Design notes:
- I wanted the Shining Spears to be more assault-oriented
than normal Jetbikes in keeping with their role as Aspect
Warriors. However, because they are on jetbikes and not
wielding two close combat weapons (although the one they
do wield is stronger than most), they would not be quite
as good as a normal Aspect Warrior in an assault, so they
have an Assault value of 3. Because they have no shuriken
cannons in their squads as normal Jetbike squads do,
their Firepower is reduced to 1.
- I didnšt think it would be appropriate for there to be a
large force of Shining Spears riding around crushing
other detachments, as there simply arenšt enough Shining
Spears out there to make an entire detachment! Therefore
I limited them in two ways: availability and numbers.
They are only available as Support choices, meaning they
cannot make up a detachment on their own. And since each
unit of Shining Spears occupies a Support choice, you can
never have more than 5 units in a detachment.
- The tactical role of Shining Spears in an Eldar War Host
would be either as some extra punch in an assault, or as
a screen in front of an armoured advance so that enemy
troops would have to assault the Shining Spears first,
protecting vulnerable transports behind them.
- Shining Spears should be available to the War Hosts of
all Craftworlds, although by their very nature, they will
always be few in number.
Modeling Shining Spears:
Shining Spears can be easily distinguished from normal
jetbikes by their unique color scheme. This makes for the easiest
way to create Shining Spear models - simply paint them to match
the models shown in White Dwarf! Exarchs can be distinguished by
using the reversed, mainly-blue color scheme shown on the Exarch
in the battle report in White Dwarf 241. For more ambitious
modelers, creating the laser lance shouldn't be too hard - just
check your bits box for any small pointy things that might be the
proper scale (not too sharp though - don't want to bleed all over
your figures every game!) and glued into place.
