Seer Council:
The Path of the Seer is especially strong on the Craftworld of
Ulthwé, with both benefits and drawbacks for the armies of the
Craftworld. Ulthwé produces the most potent and insightful seers
of any of the Eldar. But as the Path of the Seer is long and
arduous to master, the numbers of Aspect Warriors are quite few
in comparison to other Craftworlds. To compensate, Ulthwé
maintains large standing armies of Guardians, including the elite
Black Guardians.

Seer Council As Guardians + Hero, Enhanced Psyker
- Special Ability: Enhanced Psyker
- Units with the Enhanced Psyker special ability are rare -
this effect can only be achieved by several psykers
working in unison
- A unit with the Enhanced Psyker special
ability counts as two psykers in assaults and
firefights.
- Any Psychic Blast Fate Card played by a unit with the
Enhanced Psyker ability counts as being one
level higher than the value printed on the Fate Card,
up to a maximum of 3. So, a Level 1 Psychic Blast
Fate Card played by an Enhanced Psyker would
count as a Level 2 Psychic Blast for purposes of
nullification.
Design notes:
- The Seer Council is designed to reflect the power and
authority of the Seers of Ulthwé. They are the most
potent psykers of a psychically gifted species, and as
such lend valuable support to their forces on the
battlefield.
- I wanted the Seer Council to add a bit more than a normal
Farseer. It made sense that if a group of Farseers and
Warlocks were using their powers in concert with each
other, they might have more of an effect in an assault or
firefight - hence counting as two psykers when working
out the results of close combats and firefights.
- In addition, bumping up the level of any Psychic Blast
Fate Card played using a Seer Council unit seemed a nice
way to increase their potency on the battlefield, since
any Psychic Blast they cast will be very difficult to
nullify.
- Because of their extreme age and the fact that there are
more than one Farseer in a Seer Council, I didn¹t allow
a Seer Council to be mounted on a Vyper.
- It seems quite reasonable to replace the Farseer in an
Ulthwé Supreme Commander detachment with the Seer
Council as well, using the points cost in this list.
Modeling tips:
Making a Seer Council unit is quite easy. Simply mix several
Warlock and Farseer models together on one base, easily
distinguishable from a Warlock included in a Guardian unit.
